Much Like Fairfax Avenue, La Brea Avenue has become one of the hottest places in Los Angeles, California to buy streetwear. As the streetwear industry grew ever more popular, Fairfax alone was not able to house all of the streetwear shops. Many spilled over to Melrose and other stores spilled over to La Brea. La Brea is home to the latest and newest streetwear store openings including the flagship store to the biggest artist in the world today. La Brea is a huge street with plenty of shops and diners to see, but if you are specifically looking for streetwear on La Brea, we highly recommend checking out the following stores….
Union
Union first opened up in New York back in the late 80s. The rise of streetwear over time caused the owner to move out West to Los Angeles. Union is a great streetwear store to visit because it is a place where the youth can “showcase their music, art, and fashion.” The streetwear scene in La Brea has gotten so big that they decided to close down the New York shop, and solely operate in Los Angeles. From hard to find sneakers to up and coming luxury streetwear brands, Union provides it all in their relatively small retail space. True streetwear fans should definitely check out Union.

Stussy
Right next to the Union shop on La Brea is one of the founders and OGs of the streetwear industry…Stussy. Stussy was founded all the way back in 1980 in Laguna Beach, California. Its roots go back to Southern California so it was only right they had a physical presence in SoCal. Stussy has only six physical retail stores across the United States and one of them happens to be on La Brea. If this reason alone doesn’t entice you enough to walk in, then I don’t know what will. Much like the Union store, this Stussy shop is not the biggest, but definitely packs a punch for all Stussy fans and provides limited edition releases as they become available.

Undefeated
Founded back in 2002, UNDEFEATED is one of the original curated sneaker and apparel brand with exclusive collaborations stores. They are a staple of the modern streetwear industry and must be protected by streetwear fashionistas at all costs. They offer a great variety of the latest and greatest streetwear releases. From limited edition Nike collaborations to hard-to-find Yeezys and BAPE apparel, Undefeated has it all in this awesome store. Definitely one of the streetwear powerhouses on La Brea that is worth checking out.

OVO Los Angeles Flagship
Last but certainly not least, is Drake’s very own OVO Los Angeles flagship store. As Drake’s October’s Very Own brand grew along with the rise of his music career, Drake began to dip into other ventures including fashion. The large but minimalist store offers a variety of clothing and accessories from his OVO brand imprint. The store made a grand opening on December 5, 2015 which makes it the newest store on this list. If you are a Drake fan, then visiting the OVO LA flagship store on La Brea is a must.

Despite the fact one of the pioneers of the streetwear movement, Virgil Abloh, has stated the streetwear movement may very well die soon, we believe he is sadly mistaken. Much like retro has become a staple in style and fashion, we believe the same about streetwear. Streetwear is going nowhere and is here to stay.
