Facebook Tells Employees Not to Wear Facebook Clothing in Public After Trump Ban

Facebook recently sent out a memo to 56,000 of its employees encouraging them not to wear Facebook branded clothing in public following Trump’s Facebook ban. Due to safety concerns, Facebook believes it would be dangerous to be identified as a Facebook employee in public following the banning of President Donald J. Trump and many of his supporters and their “Stop the Steal” rhetoric.

An internal memo obtained by The Information said the following:

“In light of recent events, and to err on the side of caution, global security is encouraging everyone to avoid wearing or carrying Facebook-branded items at this time”

Facebook’s security team issued the memo four days after they banned Trump on Monday, January 11, 2021.
