Jay-Z is 51 years old and is a successful entrepreneur, legendary rapper, and a father of three children alongside his wife Beyoncé. He has an enormously large net worth from his music and business ventures. He has worked extremely hard over the years to sustain his reputation and success. One would think that with so many years of hard work and living, Jay would’ve already began to start graying. However, for some strange reason Jay-Z has managed to maintain the rigor in his dark black hair even at his elderly age.
Jay-Z’s hair has been a topic of discussion ever since he started growing it out about two to three years ago. Various individuals have opinions regarding his hairstyle which he does not seem to care a lot about. Jay-Z’s hair has evolved from what was once a clean-shaven head to now sporting dreadlocks similar to that of legendary artist Basquiat. He commented in an interview that his new hair is a result of his focus on an album he is recording. But even with a full set of hair, there is not one gray hair in sight.
Over the years, sources have reported that Jay-Z wears a lace front wig that he distinctively covers with bands and various types of hats. Due to age his hairline has reportedly gone thinner, therefore to maintain his intended healthy hair look he has incorporated additional hair elements. If this is indeed true, Jay has managed to hide this well.
Regarding the color of Jay-Z’s hair, there have been many speculations as to how he has shown no single sign of graying. One theory has been that he has good genes and has no reason to worry about graying. Since Jay-Z’s father passed away as soon as they tried to reunite, there is no reference of whether he inherited good hair genes from his father’s family side.
With the skills and technology that are now available in the world, individuals can get their hair dyed without anybody noticing. Considering Jay-Z’s money and influence, he could easily access the best anti-graying secrets and treatments. His barber, Johnny Cakes, who flies out to cut Jay-Z’s hair is extremely talented and could probably pull off dyeing that isn’t noticeable without any issues.
Currently, there is no confirmation that Jay-Z dyes his hair. However, my conclusion is it is highly likely he does. His edges are not messy like regular men who dye their hair which makes it hard to notice, but Jay-Z is not like other regular men.
