Few can survive the legal wrath of Nike, just ask Warren Lotas and Lil Nas X.
However, there is one brand in particular that not only survived a legal battle with Nike, but actually beat them in a Supreme Court case. That brand is called YUMS.
YUMS was founded in Dallas, TX by street artist Tex Moton back in 2007. The brand quickly gained popularity after launch and was becoming one of the hottest footwear brands of the time. Nike took notice of YUMS’ rising success and decided to sue for design similarities in 2009.
In a legal battle that lasted several years, YUMS eventually won the case and now they are back to celebrate their legal victory by relaunching their signature ‘Sweet Series’ sneaker line.
Consisting of four new sneaker designs, the collection is now available in unisex shoe sizes ranging from 5 – 13 with prices starting at $100. Shop the “Sugar”, “Cupcake”, “Rainbow Sherbet”, and “Mixed Berry Tart” colorways at yums.com.
