If you haven’t heard of WSLY Saint he is a rapper, songwriter, and audio engineer, but by a quick glance at his Instagram…you would think he’s a fashion model. His feed is filled with stylish outfits. WSLY is from Los Angeles, CA while currently based in Dallas, TX. He was formally known as Willy Wesly. WSLY and his partner had a record deal with Warner in 2013, but unfortunately the deal fell through a year later because they didn’t really like the beats as much on their breakout EP “Pyramid”. WSLY still has a few of those connections and is currently working on an album. We had an opportunity to speak with WSLY about fashion and what inspires some of his cool-looking outfits…
1. Favor athletic wear brand and why?
WSLY: Adidas hands down, always have been. I just love how creative they are and especially recently with the 90s wave coming back. I love what they do with the “bulky dad shoes” they’ve been making lately.
2. Favorite ‘clubbing’ outfit?
WSLY: Haha I barely club but if I do it’ll be basic, some jeans and a tee
3. Supreme or Bape?
WSLY: Bape. I’m not really a fan of the basic red block with the words supreme in it. I don’t know, it just doesn’t really look like it took any effort to create. Bape on the other hand is art on every item.
4. Your style is mainly influenced by?
WSLY: Lenny Kravitz, Andre 3000, Kurt Cobain and Virgil Abloh.
5. Describe your style in one word..
WSLY: Bold
6. Do you care if your significant other (or crush) is stylish?
WSLY: Yes!!
7. What does a ‘hypebeast’ mean to you?
WSLY: Running after every new drop. Typical branding style. Chasing the hype clothes and shoes for the moment.
8. Finish Line or Foot Locker?
WSLY: I honestly love both. I love that they both give me different options for the most part
9. Does your outfit selection change when your performing?
WSLY: No not really.
10. Fashion is …..? (finish the sentence)
WSLY: Fashion is an expression of who you are or want to be.
