Well if you didn’t click the link in his bio (or even if you did), you probably want to know…what the hell is this Drew House thing all about? No, The House of Drew is not the name of Justin Bieber’s next album or the name of his next roasting session episode. Its not the name of his new tour either.
Drew House is actually Justin Bieber’s official new clothing line. That’s right, Justin Bieber has his own clothing line now. Justin Bieber is the latest celebrity to join Rihanna, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Victoria Beckham, Eva Mendes, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Drake, Adam22, NBA YoungBoy, Jake Paul, RiceGum, Floyd Mayweather and a million others to have their own clothing line. The House of Drew is a fashion house Justin Bieber and his team built. Drew House may in fact be the reason we haven’t got any new Justin Bieber music lately because Bieber is too busy making clothes now. Drew House’s inaugural lineup launched in January of 2019 with the first official release (a pair of hotel slippers) coming out late last year (2018). The latest Drew House collections which was released this June, was an assemblage of T-shirts, crewnecks, pants, shorts, and hoodies made out of soft brown corduroy and cotton. If you didn’t hear much about Drew House when it was first launched, that’s because Bieber never made an official announcement or press conference announcing he was launching his own brand.
The Drew House is still a new clothing line which is why you haven’t seen pop-up shops or major retailers carry the stuff. However, whatever Justin Bieber puts his name on is always a hit so expect Drew House to be the next fashion wave among certain groups. Therefore, expect Drew House at your local Urban Outfitters soon. Most of the pieces on the online store appear to be sold out which means they are either in high demand by Beliebers or they are simply trying the Supreme tactic to create more want and demand. Whatever the case may be, Drew House does seem to be a success so far considering they have done limited marketing aside from a few Instagram posts.
The official logo of the Drew House clothing line is a big yellow smiley face similar to the smiley face emoji on your iPhone. That is why 50% of the outfits you see Bieber or his wife Hailey Baldwin wear now have a big yellow smiley face on them. They are promoting the Drew House brand. Drew House clothing is a bit pricey and definitely costs more than say your typical PacSun brands. The average hoodie costs around $120 and a pair of socks of will run you $20. A pair of jeans cost as much as $200. For those on a budget, you can buy a sheet of Drew House stickers for $10. Drew House clothing seems to be a mix of streetwear and wannabe high-end Yeezy collection pieces. Personally, I think Drew House is simply another overpriced celebrity clothing line. Another way to leverage an artist’s fame to make money from their fans. The logo looks like it was made in 30 minutes and nothing about its collections strike me as particularly unique or stylish. The official @drewhouse Instagram page seems to be ran by an intern and the color selection of the pieces seems to have zero thought behind them. Unlike Kanye West, Bieber never really has mentioned fashion much or has vocalized dreams about starting his own brand so I’m not even sure Justin has any passion in fashion. But that’s just my opinion. Who knows, maybe the future Drew House collections are awesome and Bieber goes on to become the next fashion Karl Lagerfield one day. Only time will tell.
