While the federal government can’t agree to raise the minimum wage, Under Armour has. Starting June 6, 2021 Under Armour will increase their minimum wage to $15 for hourly employees.

As a result of the minimum wage increase,  over 8,000 part and full-time employees as well as seasonal workers will be getting raises as a result of the increase. Under Armour workers based in Canada will be paid a minimum of $15.25 per hour.

Under Armour CEO and president, Patrik Frisk, said of its wage increase:

“We are committed to doing the right thing, and at the center of our commitment is ensuring our teammates feel valued and appreciated”

Under Armour aims to attract the best employees and remain competitive in the retail sector with its new wage increase.
