UCLA Nike Jordan Deal

After an ugly and abrupt ending to the $280 million Under Armour sponsorship deal, UCLA has bounced back by signing a six-year deal with Nike and its Jordan Brand subsidiary.

Beginning July 1, 2021, all of UCLA’s athletic teams will have Jordan or Nike branding on them. Jordan Brand will be taking over the athletic gear for the universities’ basketball teams and football roster while the swoosh will oversee the rest of the school’s Division 1 teams.

UCLA athletic director, Martin Jarmond, said in regards to the new deal:

“UCLA is elite, and our student-athletes deserve every resource in their pursuit of excellence. We sought to partner with the best in the world; that is Nike and Jordan Brand”

In regards to the process of finding an athletic sponsorship Martin stated:

“Going into this process, our top priority was to secure the best quality and most innovative product to help our student-athletes and coaches compete for championships.”

The official UCLA Nike and Jordan Brand apparel will be available for purchase fall 2021. No details in regards to the monetary size of the deal yet.

Congratulations to the Bruins!
