A few days ago stories started circulating about the departure of Tremaine Emory as Creative Director of Supreme.
While nothing was confirmed at the time, we now have confirmation that the stories are true and Tremaine has indeed stepped down after getting the role back in February 2022. The fall/winter 2023 collection will be his last with the brand.
Just a few hours ago, Tremaine went on an Instagram rant uploading several posts accusing the brand of “systemic racism” alluding to the fact that is the main reason he left. One of the posts includes an image of the book White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism by Robin DiAngelo saying in the caption that he recommended the Supreme staff read the book.
Supreme has not yet responded to the claims.
