Fortnite has been deeply associated with music, and now they’re taking it a step further by introducing ‘Fortnite Festival’ as a dedicated game mode centered around music.
The Weeknd is playing a key role in launching the new game mode by being the first artist to perform. On December 9, he’ll host a concert, similar to Eminem’s, allowing players to interact with the music by playing along with the beat.
This sets the stage for other artists to join ‘Fortnite Festival’, expanding its song collection through post-launch updates. While specific details about the full song list are still limited, Epic Games shared in their press release that ‘Fortnite Festival’ is a new music game developed by Harmonix, the creators of the iconic Rock Band.
The press release read, “Fortnite Festival is a new music game where players can play in a band with friends or perform solo on stage with hit music by their favourite artists…Festival marks the beginning of music gaming in Fortnite.”
The game lets players either join a band with friends or perform solo on stage, featuring hit music from their favorite artists.
While Season 5 of Fortnite starts on December 3, Fortnite Festival won’t be available until December 9, coinciding with The Weeknd’s in-game concert.
