Fashion ain’t easy and neither is modeling, but Ivee Nguyen excels at both. Having only started her modeling career a little over a year ago, Ivee has already landed some high profile gigs including a nationwide campaign for retail giant Finish Line. We had the opportunity to ask Ivee 10 random style questions including what it was like working with Finish Line. This is what she said:
Have you managed to stay stylish during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Ivee: I have managed to stay stylish during the COVID-19 pandemic! I believe that I have been stylish more than ever. I have found new cute, comfortable ways to dress myself throughout the pandemic. I’ve been wearing a lot of comfortable clothes, but I have found more love for sweats, hoodies, and comfort wear overall. I try to find different ways to express myself even through a pandemic. The way I think about it is that masks are essential and cover half of your face, but make it fashion. I have a mask collection with a bunch of cute prints on them and they are my favorite!
Describe your style in one word?
Ivee: Comfort. Comfort is something that is important to me and it always goes first. If I am not overall comfortable in something that I am wearing, then will it really make me feel good about myself?
Your style is mainly influenced by?
Ivee: My style is influenced in so many different ways. Being an influencer, even I am also influenced by other influencers. Though my style can be influenced by others, it is important that I feel good about it whenever I wear it, or I won’t. I like to add in my own style in things even if I am influenced by others.
Adidas or Nike?
Ivee: I love both, but definitely Nike if I had to choose one! I wear a lot of Nike (more) than I do Adidas!
Jeans or Leggings?
Ivee: I enjoy being super comfortable so definitely leggings. I love jeans but whenever I wear jeans, I have to wear material that is stretchy, called “jeggings.” I find jeggings more comfortable than regular jeans.

You modeled for Finish Line. How was that experience?
Ivee: I had a great experience! When my friend John reached out to me about the Finish Line campaign, I was actually in the middle of my summer semester. I was taking four summer classes. My workload was heavy at the time, but an opportunity like this is something I could not pass on. I was so excited about it when my friend John reached out to me. The day the Finish Line photoshoot was on, was a busy day for me. I had classes from 8 AM – 4 PM that day. As soon as I was done with. My last class at 4 PM, I drove right down to Indianapolis and on my way there I was listening to lectures for my 8 AM exam the next day. I got to model in Nike and Adidas clothing wear and shoes. Nike and Adidas are brands that I have always worn since I played sports in high school, so this was an exciting experience for me. With all of the chaos in that day, it was definitely worth it. There are actually pictures that are up of me right now on the site and I have seen a few posters in stores. I actually went to a store a few days ago, and it didn’t feel real. I was just looking at the poster like, “Wow, that’s really me.” I feel extremely blessed and satisfied that I got an opportunity like this from Finish Line.
Your favorite fashion brand is?
Ivee: OhPolly is my favorite brand for chic, trendy, girly looks and then Nike for fitness, athletic, comfortable wear.
Your favorite fashion item you own?
Ivee: I think this is such a difficult question! There are so many fashion items that I love. Currently, my favorite fashion item that I own are biker shorts. I love wearing biker shorts because you can dress up or dress down with it. They’re my favorite piece of clothing because you can wear a simple t-shirt, a simple top, crop top, a hoodie, throw a jacket over, and just rock them with some tennis shoes or heels. They practically look good with anything!

Ivee: Fashion is… a form of expression. Fashion is a non-verbal way of expressing your fashion, your style, what you like, and what makes you feel good. The colors, details, styles and pieces in clothing that you wear forms a way to express yourself. Not only is clothing a form of expression, but your jewelry, accessories, and hair are also ways to express yourself as well. Like how different cultures have different pieces and garments to express their cultures, it’s beautiful. Fashion is a form of your identity and a form of expression.
What makes a good outfit?
Ivee: A good outfit is something that makes you feel confident and comfortable. Wearing something that makes you confident is essential because if it doesn’t make you feel great, then you won’t actually feel confident wearing it. As they say, “If you look good, you feel good!” ♦
