In one of its most controversial emoji updates to date, Apple will soon be introducing a “pregnant man” emoji to iPhones later this year. The emoji update is currently available as part of iOS 15.4 beta.
The pregnant man emoji will also come with the introduction of a “pregnant person” emoji. Emojipedia representative, Jane Solomon, said of the new pregnant person emoji:
“May be used for representation by trans men, non-binary people, or women with short hair—though, of course, use of these emoji is not limited to these groups.”
The emoji can also be used as, “tongue-in-cheek way to display a food baby, a very full stomach caused by eating a large meal,” Jane said.
