Nike has launched a new campaign called, “Winning Isn’t For Everyone,” ahead of the Olympic Games in Paris.
The campaign starts with a short film titled “Am I A Bad Person?” narrated by Willem Dafoe. It features top athletes like Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Serena Williams, and the late Kobe Bryant. The film highlights that striving to win, especially on a global stage, isn’t wrong. Unlike Dafoe’s villainous role as the Green Goblin, wanting to win doesn’t make you a villain.
“This is about celebrating the voice of the athlete,” says Nicole Graham, Chief Marketing Officer at Nike. “It’s a story about what it takes to be the best. The legacies that have yet to be shaped. And the dreams that will be made real.”
The campaign emphasizes Nike’s mission: “If you have a body, you are an athlete.” Graham adds, “‘Winning Isn’t for Everyone’ shows that anyone can be a winner if they are willing to do what it takes.”
