The man who conceptualized the most popular athletic apparel company in the world will soon be resigning as chairman of the company he once built. Phil Knight will be resigning as chairman this coming June with CEO Mark Parker (and former Kanye West foe) taking his position. Phil Knight founded the company alongside Bill Bowerman back in 1964. Since then, Nike has grown into the largest sport’s empire in the world earning more than $30 billion dollars in sales last year alone.
