Nicki Minaj Signs the First Artist to Her New Record Label

Nicki signs Tate Kobang

Nicki Minaj first announced she was going to be starting her own management company and record label back in early 2022 during an interview with Joe Budden. During the interview she stated:

“I am creating my own management company…I’m also doing my record company. I have a couple of artists that I will start the record company with. I’ll speak on that closer to album time.”

Fast forward a few months and we now have the first artist signed to Nicki’s label. Tate Kobang out of Baltimore, Maryland appears to be the first artist signed to Nicki’s label. The 30-year-old rapper recently shared on his Instagram story:

“Welp the cats out the bag…Yeah I just closed my deal and signed to Nicki as an artist. Damn.”

Nicki also hosted an Instagram live where she mentioned her new record label and shouted out Tate Kobang.

Tate’s previous experience includes co-writing with 21 Savage and Drake on “Mr. Right Now” and being signed to 300 Entertainment. Congratulations to Tate and Nicki!
