LVMH has decided to shut down operations for Rihanna’s Fenty fashion label. LVMH put forth a statement confirming the news:
“Rihanna and LVMH have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions.”
The statement does indeed state “hold” and many outlets believe it is simply a pause and may resume operations sometime in the future. But for now, Fenty the fashion house is no longer in business.
Rihanna made history back in May 2019 when first signing with LVMH becoming the first woman to create an original brand at LVMH and the first woman of color at the top of an LVMH fashion house.
While Fenty the fashion label is done, Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty are still going strong.
