Kobe Bryant Reportedly Planned on Leaving Nike in 2020

From the outside looking in, Kobe and Nike appeared to be a match made in heaven. Shortly after his falling out with Adidas, Kobe Bryant joined Nike in 2003. Kobe and his Mamba brand went on to have tremendous amounts of success for 17 years with Nike’s assistance.

However, according to an Iranian-American angel investor, Kobe was planning on leaving Nike in 2020. Shervin Pishevar claims Kobe was unhappy with Nike’s marketing and promotion efforts to Kobe’s line.

Shervin claims to have met with Kobe in late 2019 to discuss launching his own shoe company owned by players.

In a series of tweets, Shervin revealed concepts him and his team designed for Kobe as well as more details on his meeting with Kobe. Shervin also claims there are witnesses to his Kobe meeting such as manager of Usain Bolt, Gina Ford and published photos of Gina and Kobe together.

If these plans were in fact true, they were never able to get started due to Kobe Bryant’s death on January, 2020.
