Popular New York-based artist KAWS is collaborating with the Brooklyn Nets to design the team’s City Edition uniform for the 2023-2024 season. This is KAWS’ first-ever collaboration with a professional sports team.
KAWS’ “TENSION” series serves as inspiration in the uniform design, with notable elements such as abstract color painting and vivid color palettes incorporated throughout.
The artist’s signature “XX” insignias appear on the waistband of the shorts, while the lettering of “NETS” on the jersey is spelled out using his graffiti-inspired font. KAWS’ signature is also woven above the jock tag.
KAWS said of his collaboration:
“As a proud Brooklyn resident, I was thrilled when the Nets asked me to create a new uniform design…”
The KAWS x Brooklyn Nets City Edition uniforms and merchandise will be available for purchase online and at the team store at Barclays Center in the fall.
