Hennes & Mauritz more commonly known as H&M is currently facing investigation for racial discrimination in Sweden.
According to a report by Swedish daily newspaper Aftonbladet, the Swedish multinational clothing-retail company is facing investigation for discrimination against ethnic minorities.
The report states former and current employees at H&M stores were aware of situations that discriminated against minorities when they tried to exchange items.
H&M is being investigated by Equality Ombudsman which is a Swedish government agency dedicated to preventing discrimination.
H&M has replied to the allegations with the following:
“We have received information on this matter and will respond to it in accordance with their request for an opinion.”
H&M was given until December 22, 2020 to reply. As of December 13, 2020 they haven’t.
