“LETS GO CHAMP!” has been one of the standout quotes in sports and most notably boxing for the year 2015. The man who catch phrased the chant is former two-time heavyweight champion Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs. For over a year, Shannon followed, pursued, and stalked former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (Klitschko recently lost his title to Tyson Fury) at his every destination. Wherever Klitschko went, there was Shannon taunting the champion with “LETS GO CHAMP!” in an attempt to get a title fight.
While a possible fight between Klitschko and Briggs may no longer come to fruition due to Klitschko’s recent loss, the “LETS GO CHAMP!” movement is still going strong.
