Looks like eBay is trying to give StockX a run for their money as the go-to authentication platform when it comes to selling streetwear online. While eBay has already been authenticating sneakers since October 2020, the popular e-commerce auction platform was not authenticating streetwear until now.
As of today, eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee service is now available for streetwear. However, the items must be worth over $200 USD and only certain brands are available at the moment such as Fear of God, Supreme, and BAPE. More brands will be available to be authenticated late September. eBay claims, “We inspect every stitch, strap, and buckle to make sure your streetwear is authentic and matches the listing exactly.”
