Drake won a whopping $2.7 million dollars after Israel Adesanya defeated Alex Pereira at UFC 287 to reclaim the middleweight title this past Saturday. Drake had previously lost $1.6 million after betting on Adesanya to win against Pereira in their first fight.
However, Drizzy got his revenge by placing a $500,000 bet on Adesanya to win and a $400,000 bet for him to win by knockout in the rematch, which returned $885,000 and $1.8 million, respectively.
Adesanya acknowledged Drake’s bet at the post-fight press conference, but reminded fans that fighters put their lives on the line every time they step into the octagon. “Shoutout to everyone that bet on me but you have to realize that when I step into the octagon I put my life on the line” Adesanya said.
