Dr. Dre does not usually take political stances, but it does seem he’s willing to take a social justice stance or should we say knee. Dr. Dre recently uploaded a photo with himself and Colin Kaepernick taking a knee with the caption “Defiant.” As with all issues regarding Colin Kaepernick, the photo was met with plenty of controversy and criticism.
Many people attacked Dr. Dre’s post with Colin Kaepernick. The photo was met with comments such as “Unfollowing you” and the clown emoji.

Dr. Dre usually stays quiet when it comes to bi-partisan issues. However, Dr. Dre has never shied away from taking photos with individuals he admires and respects. Kanye West is another individual who is also controversial much like Colin Kaepernick. Despite Kanye West and Colin Kaepernick having very different political missions, Dr. Dre also took a picture with Kanye West.

Dr. Dre has previously expressed his discomfort about speaking on politics. When asked about his thoughts on President Donald J. President once in an interview with Jimmy Iovine, Dr. Dre replied, “I’m not interested in having those conversations to be honest. I’m an artist and I’m here to inspire and create. That’s it.”
