Music video producer extraordinaire, Cole Bennett, recently sat down with Kids Take Over and talked about the time he turned down $100,000 dollars as a gift after directing a successful music video for an artist.
Cole explained he was relatively broke at the time with about $3,000 dollars to his name when he produced a video for an unnamed artist that went viral and got over one million views in 24 hours and turned the artist into an instant star.
While Cole was only promised to be compensated $800 for the video, the artist’s manager reached out to Cole and offered to give Cole $100,000 as a thank you for changing his and his artist’s life. Cole turned down the money.
Eventually, the manager kept insisting to give Cole some money and Cole finally gave in at the $60,000 mark and finally accepted the money as a gift.
