In case you are not a huge boxing fan, Teofimo Lopez is the guy who famously beat pound-for-pound great Vasiliy Lomachenko and then got whooped by George Kambosos in his very next fight. You can view highlights of the Kambosos beatdown below.
Since the Kambosos ass whooping, Teo has done a media tour parading an endless amount of excuses for the poor performance. He has blamed it on everything from corruption to a hole in his esophagus.
But perhaps the biggest excuse that could have contributed to his performance that hasn’t been talked about enough is his recent divorce. According to BSO, Teo’s wife Cynthia Lopez left him while she was pregnant and days before the Kambosos fight.
While there had been rumblings of family drama, Teo confirmed of the split to Fight Hub TV this week. “I was married, now I’m divorced” said Lopez. Watch the reveal at the minute mark below.
