Adidas Sues Nike Over SNKRS App Patent Infringement

adidas sues Nike patent infringement

Nike and adidas are about to duke it out in court. According to a recent court filing in Eastern Texas federal court, Nike has infringed on nine adidas patents. Among those infringements are Nike Run Club, Training Club and the Nike SNKRS mobile app.

The three stripes claims the Nike SNKRS mobile app infringes the adidas Confirmed app. The adidas Confirmed app was released February 2015 while the Nike SNKRS app was released three months after on May 2015.

While no money amount has been specified, adidas is demanding to be rewarded “in an amount sufficient to compensate adidas for Defendant’s infringement of the Patents-in-Suit, but not less than a reasonable royalty, together with interests and costs.”

Do you think adidas will win the lawsuit?
