The ASAP Mob was formed in 2006 by a few young, hungry, and creative individuals from Harlem. It is without a shadow of a doubt a very talented group of individuals. There are about 18 members in the group, some of the members include, ASAP Ferg ASAP Rock, ASAP Yams (R.I.P.), ASAP Nast, ASAP Bari, ASAP Illz, Chynna Rodgers the only female member in the group, and others. They are a tight community that hardly creates any drama that is unrelated to their individual professional jobs and their music.
At the end of August 2020, ASAP Illz told the public that ASAP Ferg is officially not a member of the ASAP Mob any longer. This came as a surprise to fans as they did not understand the basis of his removal from the group.
However, ASAP Illz stood by his position on the matter and insisted that ASAP Ferg was not working cohesively with other members of the group. ASAP Illz also alluded that ASAP Ferg had become irrelevant over time. This seemed to have been routed in him not taking his opinions on music seriously, evidenced by a text chain he shared on his stories. ASAP Illz also called him out on only involving artists that will not offer criticism.
The rest of the members remained silent for an extended period of time before ASAP Bari responded to the allegations. He agreed strongly with ASAP Illz’s quote and insisted that nobody doubt it. A second member agreeing meant that this was certainly true.
Eventually, many people believed it, and the news spread. However, the question was if ASAP Illz has any authority to dismiss ASAP Ferg from the group. Evidently, he is said to be among the founding members of the group and has the right to do so. A fact many people did not know. For many reasons, at first, hip hop fans did not take ASAP Bari’s words seriously.
Eventually, a member spoke up to the defense of ASAP Ferg and the rest of the group.
ASAP Nast clarified and said that ASAP Ferg is still and forever will be a member of the ASAP Mob. He continued to say that this was as a result of an altercation between the members that was blown out of proportion. The fight seems to have led to much more than just an argument that wasn’t supposed to be this way. He also mentioned that the issue will be sorted between them and will unlikely cause a member to be kicked out.
As it is, nobody can pinpoint the facts as there are contradictory opinions even within the members. However, the tone of speech that ASAP Nast spoke with was filled with finality and there has been little on all of their social media accounts about this.
We have to wait and see how this will turn out. The reason as to why this happened and why they had an altercation is not clear and any reason said is probably speculation. It is highly likely that they will sort this privately as they do most of their business and not speak about it much. The most notorious member of the ASAP Rocky has not spoken yet on the situation.
