What the Coronavirus Test Looks Like

As testing is starting to become more widespread, many people are wondering if they will begin getting tested and in fact what that actual coronavirus test looks like. Rumors have been widespread about what the actual coronavirus test is like, but the actual procedure is quick and simple, but can be a bit uncomfortable.

What Does the Coronavirus Test Involve?

The test will be conducted by an approved health care employee and they will conduct what is called a nasopharyngeal swab. The health care employee will gently insert what looks like a really long Q-tip up your nose as far as it can go and twirl the swab to get a good sample and then gently remove it. The sample will then be placed in a protective flask which will then be sent to a lab for testing.

How Long Does the Test Last?

The test literally only takes a few seconds and involves a deep nasal swab. It shouldn’t take longer than 20 seconds and you should receive results within 24-72 hours.
