Virgil will be releasing his first collaboration collection since being appointed Louis Vuitton’s men’s artistic director in 2018. The first individual Virgil Abloh will be collaborating with since being hired by Louis Vuitton will be none other than Bape founder and streetwear legend Nigo. Virgil Abloh said of the forthcoming collaboration in an interview with Vogue, “Me being at Louis Vuitton is directly attributable to work Nigo’s done in the past…a collab project with him—it puts his work in the right context. He inspired me to do what I do. I thought it was a full-circle moment.”
The upcoming collaboration collection will be called “Louis Vuitton LV²”. Expect the Virgil Abloh and NIGO collection to be available September 2020.
