Versace is set to launch the “Versace Mercury” sneaker next month, combining elements from various footwear styles. This unisex shoe features 86 crafted components, with the upper and lining alone made of 30 pieces per pair. Assembled by 27 artisans in Italy, each sneaker includes 16 meters of hand-woven crochet rope, inspired by Versace’s ‘80s and ‘90s ads.
Design highlights include handmade woven laces, an EVA sole with the Greca pattern, metal Versace lettering, and a ribbon featuring the Greca motif. Three versions will be available: the all-black and all-white M_VS_01, the rhinestone-adorned M_VS_02 in black-silver and dusty pink-silver, and the knotted upper M_VS_03 in white-silver-gold.
The sneakers launch on June 4 at versace.com and select boutiques, with a wider release later. This is Versace’s biggest shoe launch since the Odissea in 2022.
