A Delta Airlines employee at LaGuardia Airport recently went viral for threatening to remove a passenger who complained about being misgendered. The incident, recorded by Dylan Mulvaney’s friend Tommy Dorfman, initially aimed to highlight perceived transphobia but backfired as public support shifted towards the Delta employee.
In the video, Dorfman accused the Delta staff member of misgendering and complained about experiencing transphobia. The employee responded calmly, stating the misgendering wasn’t intentional and offered to resolve the issue by removing Dorfman from the airport.
Dorfman, known for his role in “13 Reasons Why” and activism in the LGBTQ+ rights movement, publicly came out as a transgender woman in 2021.
The incident, initially shared on TikTok, unexpectedly turned the spotlight on the employee’s assertive response and ignited discussions about handling such situations.
The video to date has earned over 7 million views on X (formerly Twitter) alone.
