Adidas has announced the sell of remaining Yeezy inventory starting June 1, 2023. Along with a 15% commission for Kanye West, a portion of the profits will be directed towards the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change.
Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden stated that after careful consideration, they chose to sell and donate the remaining Yeezy products based on feedback from various stakeholders. Following the termination of the Yeezy partnership in October, Adidas explored options for the existing inventory, taking into account input from employees, organizations, communities, and consumers to handle the products responsibly.
Despite the partnership ending, Adidas fulfilled committed production orders to support their supply chain partners and prevent any negative impact resulting in a reported revenue loss of approximately $1 billion.
