The sneaker and apparel giant known as Foot Locker is about to get bigger. In a mega blockbuster deal, Foot Locker will be acquiring shoe chains WSS and Atmos at the end of 2021. For those that don’t know, WSS is a California based sneaker chain with 93 store locations while the Japanese based chain, Atmos, has 49 locations.
Foot Locker’s acquisitions are an attempt to expand into the Japanese market as well as offer a more affordable selection. While Foot Locker will be the owners of these stores once the deal is completed, both WSS and Atmos stores will keep their names. Foot Locker will be acquiring both chains for $1.1 Billion USD.
