In a hard fought NBA Finals series, the Milwaukee Bucks led by Giannis Antetokounmpo defeated the Phoenix Suns to win their first NBA championship in 50 years.
The Bucks won the series 4-2 denying legendary point guard, Chris Paul, his elusive championship ring. Giannis won the NBA Finals MVP and scored 50 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 blocks in a remarkable game 6 performance.
Giannis became the second player in NBA history with three 40-point, 10-rebound games in a single NBA Finals joining the great Shaquille O’Neal to accomplish such a feat.
By winning, Giannis also fulfilled Kobe’s challenge made to him all the way back in 2019. After winning the regular season MVP, Kobe challenged the Greek power forward to win an NBA championship.
