As more and more fashion companies push towards eco-friendly habits, UNIQLO has enlisted none other than Doraemon to be the companies’ new global sustainability ambassador. Doraemon is among Japan’s most popular anime characters.
Koji Yanai which is UNIQLO’s Group Senior Executive Officer for its Fast Retailing division said of the Doraemon partnership:
“We are delighted to partner with Doraemon. Over the past two decades, UNIQLO has undertaken numerous sustainability initiatives through business to contribute to a better, more sustainable world. We believe that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, social transformations, and evolving consumer attitudes make it more important than ever to collaborate with customers and other stakeholders in driving positive social change.”
Doraemon which is normally a light blue color activates sustainability mode by going green. Doraemon will soon be featured at UNIQLO websites as well as UNIQLO stores around the world.
