The origin of Foot Locker dates back to 1894 to a standard shoe store called Kinney Shoes started by a man known as George Kinney. His business was pretty successful and expanded pretty quickly. The management changed over the years due to changes in the market. Kinney Shoes was bought out by Woolworth in 1963 which operated the Foot Locker athletic shoe division we know today.

First Official Foot Locker Store

The first official Foot Locker store was opened September 12, 1974 in the Puente Hills Mall in City of Industry, California which is still operating today.

Foot Locker Is Global

Foot Locker being an international brand has managed to open stores all across the globe. They have widespread locations inside the USA grossing to over 900 stores including Illinois, Alabama, New York, and many other states. Europe comes in second with close to 250 stores across the continent in various countries such as Germany, France, Italy, and England.
