André 3000 may not be releasing new music, but he is releasing new clothing. In a somewhat bizarre and rare Instagram post, André 3000 revealed he has just dropped a new ant sketch capsule collection.
The reasoning behind the drop is quite interesting and somewhat comical. It so happens André made a hand-drawn ant sketch a few years ago and trademarked it.
In order for André to keep the trademark he has to use it to sell something or will lose the trademark. To prevent losing the trademark, André 3000 has dropped a three item (t-shirt, hoodie, and long sleeve) collection with it.
Andre wrote:
“This is a sketch I did a while ago and I am told I have to use it now in the market place or it stops being mine. So I’ve made a few things with it. All the shirts are ethically-produced/made from recycled materials. Hope you enjoy. – 3.”
