AOC Responds to ‘Vanity Fair’ Cover Criticism

It’s safe to say politicians will always be criticized for one reason or another. In the current climate of American politics, it seems a Democrat politician will always be criticized by those on the right and Republican politicians will always be scrutinized by those on the left.

This theory held true with AOC’s recent Vanity Fair cover story. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a Democrat congresswoman serving as the U.S. Representative for New York’s 14th congressional district.

AOC recently graced the cover of Vanity Fair wearing high-end designer clothes by Wales Bonner, Christian Louboutin, Bvlgari, and other luxury designers.  The Daily Mail reported AOC’s Vanity Fair outfits were estimated at $14,000 dollars. Considering AOC is a Democratic Socialist, she was quickly criticized for her expensive outfits.

Republican candidate for US Representative, Lauren Boebert, was quick to criticize Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for hypocrisy:

AOC was quick to respond to critics of her Vanity Fair cover shoot. AOC stated the clothes she wore for the cover didn’t belong to her and it is traditional for fashion magazines to lend clothes for cover shoots.
